Blogging for Health : Ideas For Women Health and Fitness Blog

I have to share that sometimes blogging for the topic of health can be counter intuitive to my health when I have computer problems. Computer issues is the thing in my life that causes the most stress and I am an intensive care nurse and write with deadlines. I get more stressed with deadlines and a faulty Internet service than I do caring for critical children and babies.

A computer crash, sketchy Internet service in the hills of our new home, and deadlines has made me a maniac this week. I have tried to compensate with fruit drinks, spending time walking outdoors, and trying not to worry about the deadlines that I can not reach because of technology flaws. Who knew that places in the Midwest didn?t have high powered Internet 24/7?

Making use of the down time I truly have enjoyed some walks in the park even with the humidity. It reminded me of the importance of relaxation, giving up control of those items out of my control, and learning to adapt without getting angry. It also reminded me how important hydration is when taking said walks in the heat of the summer with the humidity in full force.

How do you deal with stress and what do you consider the triggers to your anxiety and worry?

Tips for dealing with stress include:

Try to keep eating healthy during stressful times rather than pigging out on high sugar foods.

Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

Get plenty of sleep. Rest helps you to keep an even emotional balance during stressful times.

Find alternative physical activities to help clear your mind. Quiet walks are a good way to sort your thoughts.

Make a list of the things you can control and what steps you can take to improve your situation.

Make a similar list of the things completely out of your control. Release those to the higher power.

Finally, take it one hour, one day, one week at a time. Most decisions can wait until you have had time to think things through, and like my computer woes, deadlines are not life or death and emails can wait. Each of us can only do what we can do about a situation and maintain our health. Keep those tips in mind when you feel yourself becoming stressed. Take a deep breath and give yourself permission to let go of the stress and rethink the problem. It will be better for your health.
